Preheat the cartridge

Preheat the glue to 20 to 25 degrees. The ideal temperature is 30 degrees, but the glue must have a minimum temperature of 15 degrees, otherwise it will not cure. The warmer, the easier the glue will flow. However, the cartridge should never be heated to over 50 degrees. For example, you can preheat the glue in a thermobox or in a baby bottle warmer. Hot water is a very simple way to preheat the glue. Make sure that the water has bathtub temperature.

Insertion in squeezing gun

Insert the glue cartridge into the squeezing gun. Only if you use a universal squeeze gun (silicone squeezer) do you have to use an adapter for the 150ml Shufit glue. It is not necessary with the squeezing gun from the Hoofstar starter set. Remember that it is a 10:1 2-component glue. The adapter is the only way to ensure that both components are squeezed out evenly (only with the universal squeeze-out gun).

Wear gloves to protect your hands! The glue cannot be removed from your hands.

Prepare the glue

Twist off the cap of the cartridge and put it aside. Squeeze a few drops of glue out of the cartridge onto a piece of foil or paper (to remove excess air, otherwise the two components will not mix evenly).

Do not touch the single components of the glue, as they are harmful to health when unmixed! Now put on the mixing tip. The mixing tip is attached with the screw cap that you just unscrewed from the cartridge. Screw the screw cap on very tightly so that the glue cannot run into the thread of the mixing tip. The cartridge is now ready to use.

When you start gluing, do not use the first centimetre of glue. It is possible that the mixing ratio is not yet perfect. You can simply wipe this first centimetre onto the front of the foil-wrapped hoof.

Now you have about 2 minutes until the glue in the cartridge cures (with Shufit acrylic glue). With Shufix PU adhesive, you have about about 30 seconds. This time varies depending on the temperature, i.e. in winter you have a few seconds longer, in summer less time.

As soon as you notice that the glue is difficult to squeeze out of the cartridge, you should always change the mixing tip.
