Welche Vorteile hat ein permanenter Klebebeschlag?
Der Wunsch vieler Pferdebesitzer ist es, ihr Pferd ständig barhuf laufen zu lassen. Leider machen es die äußeren Umstände - betonierte Ställe, Schotterwege, schwieriges Ausreitgelände usw. - oft unmöglich, das Pferd ohne Hufschutz laufen zu lassen. Denn durch den hohen Abrieb werden die Hufe schnell schmerzhaft kurz, was zu Lahmheiten, Entzündungen oder Schlimmerem führen kann.
Deshalb muss der Huf geschützt werden. Ein Hufeisen scheidet für viele von vornherein aus, weil sie den Huf nicht durch Nagellöcher verletzen wollen. Vielleicht ist der Huf ohnehin schon so kurz, dass es gar nicht mehr möglich ist, ein Eisen auf den Huf zu nageln.
Permanenter oder abnehmbarer Hufschutz?
Natürlich kann auch ein abnehmbarer Hufschutz verwendet werden. Hufschuhe werden bei Ausritten oder auf der Weide getragen, in der übrigen Zeit läuft das Pferd barhuf. Ein Hufschuh muss sehr genau angepasst werden. Nicht jeder Hufschuh passt zu jedem Pferd. Außerdem ist das An- und Ausziehen eines Hufschuhs oft schwierig und anstrengend, da der Schuh sehr fest am Huf sitzen muss, damit er nicht verloren geht, vor allem in den schnellen Gangarten. Ein weiterer Nachteil eines abnehmbaren Hufschuhs ist, dass er nicht mehrere Tage ununterbrochen am Huf verbleiben kann. Der Huf schwitzt im Schuh, die Belüftung ist je nach Modell nicht ausreichend und der Huf beginnt zu faulen. Ein Alptraum für jeden Pferdebesitzer.

Das tägliche Entfernen des Hufschutzes entfällt. Der Huf kann trotz Hufschutz bequem wachsen und bekommt genügend Luft. Es werden nur die Seitenlaschen geklebt, die Sohle bleibt frei von Hufklebstoff. Dadurch kann Hoofstar auch bei dünnen oder empfindlichen Pferdesohlen verwendet werden. Da die Sohle offen und nicht geschlossen ist, kann der Huf leicht mit dem Hufkratzer gereinigt werden. Es entsteht keine Fäule oder Gammel am Huf.
Kein Metall
Nicht zuletzt sind die Hufe auch die Tastorgane des Pferdes, mit denen es sich orientiert. Ein Pferd hört und sieht zwar, wohin es geht, aber der Boden gibt ihm zusätzliche Informationen über das Gelände. Würde man ein blindes Pferd mit Hufeisen beschlagen, würde es seine Orientierung vollständig verlieren, da ihm ein weiterer Sinn, nämlich der Tastsinn, genommen worden wäre. Mit dem Hoofstar Klebebeschlag verhindert man, dass sich der Huf eines blinden Pferdes zu schnell abnutzt. Tasten kann es aber immer noch. Die Orientierung bleibt erhalten. Eines unserer blinden Kundenpferde hat sogar einen Distanzritt absolviert, mit einer hervorragenden Zeit und ohne nennenswerte Probleme.
